The Government of Yukon is releasing 74 residential lots by public lottery in the Whistle Bend and Logan subdivisions in Whitehorse and three lots in Mayo.
Lottery applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on March 28, 2022. The draw will take place at 1 p.m. on March 31, 2022.
This latest release of lots continues the Yukon government’s work to increase land and housing availability to support healthy and vibrant communities. Increasing the supply of lots will result in more homes for Yukoners, as commercial and private builders develop neighbourhoods in the territory.
This release includes 38 single-family and 32 townhouse lots in Whistle Bend. It also includes four single-family infill lots in Logan subdivision and three residential lots in Mayo. Releasing these lots will allow the new owners to advance work on properties in the 2022 building season. When complete, Whistle Bend will be home for up to 10,000 residents.
Due to additional road work required in the spring, access to the Whistle Bend Phase 6A lots is restricted to foot traffic only until June 30, 2022.
The Yukon government is focused on providing more building lots for Yukoners. This release includes lots in Mayo, Logan and Whistle Bend, including more affordable townhouse lots. This first portion of Phase 6 is only one part of a multi-phase plan with more phases on the way. We will continue to implement our comprehensive housing strategy to help ensure that Yukoners have access to lots to build their homes.
Our population is the fastest growing in the country and we are working hard to increase the territory’s lot development and support the economy. Through our significant investments in developing new residential, commercial and industry lots around the territory, we will soon see more homes for Yukon families.
